This is no ordinary carnivorous flora. The Hypnotic Bloom is a coiling, muscle-corded aberration of the natural world — its crown bursting open to reveal a dense cluster of tiny skulls nestled among petals and blooms that have no business growing where they do. Thick, sinuous tendrils serve as limbs, rooting it in place one moment and lashing outward the next. The open bloom reveals its grim history: every skull a creature it has claimed, preserved in grotesque floral display. Whatever intelligence drives it is ancient, patient, and deeply unsettling.
For Dungeon Masters building encounters in cursed groves, corrupted Feywild regions, or the lightless margins of the Underdark, the Hypnotic Bloom makes an extraordinary centrepiece creature — one that reads immediately as a threat, even before anyone rolls Initiative. It works equally well as a display piece for collectors drawn to dark botanical horror, and takes paint brilliantly across its wealth of organic surface detail.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run encounters in corrupted forests, blighted wetlands, or Feywild wastelands
- Want a Plant-type creature with genuine menace and visual presence
- Are building collections around dark nature horror or body-horror aesthetics
- Love a centrepiece monster that doubles as a display-worthy collector's piece
Encounter Hook:
The herbalist's map marks this clearing as a source of rare medicinal blooms — but when the party arrives, every flower is the same species, the soil is thick with fragments of bone, and at the centre of the glade something is already slowly turning towards them, skulls clicking softly against one another as its crown opens wide.
Scaled to 35mm — if you'd prefer 32mm scaling, drop us a message and we'll sort that for you. Three decorative base options are available: Forest Scene (tree stump and fungi), Decay Scene (skull and creeping roots), or Bone Field Scene (deer skull and dark crystals) — please note your preferred base in the order. Bases are supplied separately and attach easily. A plain black base is also available. Some minor surface marks may occur during the printing process; these are straightforward to tidy up before priming.
