This is Hydra 01 from Novaminis, the first pose in their Hydra range — a crouching, coiling brute of a creature with seven distinct serpentine heads erupting from a massively scaled, four-legged body. The sculpt captures the Hydra mid-lunge: claws raking forward, necks twisting in all directions with jaws agape at different angles, giving the impression of a creature that genuinely cannot decide which adventurer to devour first. The level of surface detail is extraordinary — overlapping scales, protruding bone spurs, ridged dorsal crests, and textured skin folds across every inch of the body and necks. Each head has its own personality: some snarling wide, some snapping at something just out of frame, one arching high in a classic Hydra threat display.
The sculpt is fully modular. The body features multiple socket points, and the necks and heads are supplied as separate pieces — giving Dungeon Masters the flexibility to pose each neck individually and create a unique silhouette every time. Whether you build it full and chaotic or strip it back to a more composed beast, the result is a centrepiece encounter creature that earns a place both on the gaming table and on a display shelf.
Brought to your table by adventurers who:
- Need a Huge-category boss monster that genuinely intimidates across the table
- Want a centrepiece miniature for swamp, river, or coastal encounter zones
- Enjoy the challenge of painting a multi-headed creature with distinct colour variations per neck
- Are building a display collection of classic D&D monsters
- Want modular flexibility to customise head placement and neck angles
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village of Cralmouth has paid a tithe of livestock to something in the estuary for three generations — but this season the offering was refused, the docks are in splinters, and four of the seven heads the locals counted are now sporting fresh, raw stumps. Something has been fighting the Hydra. Whatever it is, it hasn't won yet.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale with a modular neck-and-head assembly. A plain black base is available as an option at checkout — it comes unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. As with all our miniatures, this is printed to order and checked before dispatch; minor marks from the support removal process are occasionally possible but are easily cleaned up at the painting stage.
