The Hunting Reptile Bones is a large-scale draconic creature — part living beast, part walking ossuary — sculpted with extraordinary surface detail across every inch of its frame. This is no simple lizard enemy; every plate of scale-armour, every jutting spike, and every exposed rib-like ridge speaks to a creature that has survived countless hunts by becoming something other than merely flesh.

Standing upright in an aggressive, predatory posture, this creature balances on thick, taloned feet whilst its spiked tail sweeps out to one side — a lethal counterweight to a body coiled and ready to lunge. The head is distinctly draconic: a broad, fanged skull crowned with sweeping curved horns and framed by bony ridges that echo exposed vertebrae. The mouth is slightly parted, mid-snarl. The left arm hangs forward with clawed fingers spread, while the sculpted musculature beneath scaled hide gives the impression of coiled, explosive strength held momentarily in check.

From behind, the creature is equally arresting — a thick, ridged tail curves dramatically outward, lined with layered scale-plates and barbed spines, all capturing the kind of detail that rewards careful painting. Whether you base-coat in deep ochre and ink the recesses to a skeletal grey, or go full undead-green for an otherworldly apex predator, there is no shortage of focal points for your brush.

Note: this miniature is supplied on a large 51mm base, reflecting its size and presence at the table. It reads as a Large creature and carries genuine table presence when placed opposite a party of 32mm adventurers.

Well suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a fearsome draconic monster for a dragon-adjacent encounter
  • Are building undead dragon or skeletal beast encounters
  • Want a centrepiece creature that doubles as a display piece
  • Run wilderness, dungeon, or mountain campaigns needing a powerful apex predator
  • Are looking for an ambitious painting project with exceptional surface texture

Encounter Hook

The quarry the party was tracking — a stolen shipment of dragon eggs — leads them deep into a flooded canyon. Ahead, half-submerged in shadow and utterly still, the Hunting Reptile Bones crouches atop the crates, its horned skull tilted as if listening. It has already heard them. It was waiting to see if they were worth the effort. They are.
