Warnes Starcoat is one of the lesser-celebrated yet quietly pivotal members of the Circle of Eight, the legendary conclave of archmages dedicated to maintaining the Balance in the World of Greyhawk. This sculpt captures him exactly as you'd imagine him: measured, watchful, and deliberately understated. He wears a quilted gambeson beneath a sweeping star-adorned cloak, a feathered wide-brimmed hat set atop a mane of greying hair, and the expression of a man who already knows how this conversation ends. A pouch hangs at his belt — components, coin, or secrets, depending on what your campaign needs.
The detail across the cloak is especially noteworthy — embossed stars scattered across the fabric are a clear nod to his identity, and the flowing sculpt gives painters a wealth of surface to work with. Whether you're running a Greyhawk campaign, using him as a high-level wizard NPC in any setting, or simply adding a characterful human mage to your display shelf, this miniature earns its place at the table.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Run Greyhawk or Circle of Eight storylines and want canon-adjacent NPCs
- Need a weathered, politically astute archmage as a patron, rival, or quest-giver
- Play or DM high-level campaigns where named wizard NPCs carry real weight
- Collect characterful human spellcaster miniatures for display or gaming use
Encounter Hook:
The party has been summoned — not invited — to a nondescript inn on the edge of a city they thought they knew well. The man waiting at the corner table introduces himself only as Warnes. He slides a sealed letter across the table and says nothing further. The letter is addressed to someone who died three years ago. Someone the party knew.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale in high-detail resin. The model and base are supplied as separate pieces and can be fixed together with superglue — the base is decorative and designed to complement the sculpt. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be tidied up easily before priming. Fully cured and ready to paint or use straight from the box.
