This is variant 17 of our Human Male Barbarian range, and it's one of the most characterful of the lot. Bare-chested and bristling with tribal bead jewellery, this warrior stands with the coiled stillness of someone who has already decided how this is going to end. In his left hand, a single-bladed axe; in his right, a heavy spiked mace — dual-wielding and utterly unconcerned about it. His long braided hair, worn leather trousers, and wrapped boots speak to a life lived far from city walls, and the spiked chest strap gives him the look of a man who made his own armour out of things he found on other people.

He works equally well as a player character barbarian going into a Rage, a warlord of the frontier lands, or a mercenary whose reputation precedes him by several settlements. The sculpt has enough personality to anchor a whole campaign arc on its own — and enough detail to reward a careful painter. Whether you're basing him in a frozen tundra or a scorched wasteland, he'll look the part.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Are playing a human barbarian, berserker, or dual-wielding warrior
  • Need a formidable NPC warlord, rival, or named antagonist
  • Want a display piece that captures frontier savagery without sacrificing detail
  • Are building out a range of barbarian variants across different poses and sculpts

Encounter Hook:
The players arrive at a remote mountain pass to find it already claimed — by a lone warrior who demands a toll, not in gold, but in blood sport. He throws one of his axes into the dirt in front of the party and says he'll let them through if one of them can land a hit before he retrieves it. He is not bluffing. He never bluffs.
