This is pose 2 of the Human Male Bandit range from Ella's Arcanum Minis — a hooded archer caught in the classic full-draw stance, longbow extended and arrow levelled at his mark. His attire tells a story: chainmail beneath a tattered surcoat, travel-worn leggings patched and fraying at the hem, and a rough hood that obscures the face almost entirely. This isn't a cutpurse caught off guard — this is a professional, patient and precise.
The sculpt rewards a close look. Torn fabric edges, layered clothing, and a feathered cloak-trim give the figure real texture and depth, making him a compelling subject for painters and a useful, versatile piece for DMs who need a credible threat. He works equally well as a wilderness ambusher, a guild assassin, a corrupt guard, or a desperate outlaw — the ambiguity is part of the appeal. Equally at home in a display case as he is on the battlefield mat.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a convincing wilderness or roadside ambush encounter
- Want a skilled NPC archer — outlaw, mercenary, or guild operative
- Are running a heist, escape, or chase scene with ranged pressure
- Collect human character sculpts across different combat roles
- Enjoy painting figures with rich textile and armour detail
Encounter Hook:
The party are three days from the nearest settlement when the first arrow buries itself in the cart wheel — a warning shot, deliberate and controlled. A hooded figure steps out from the undergrowth ahead, bow still raised, two more silhouettes visible in the trees to either side. He speaks only once: "Drop the chest and walk away." Whether the party comply, negotiate, or fight determines whether this man becomes a recurring threat, an unlikely informant, or simply a name on a wanted board.
