Human Fighter (Astrid) Bust by Primal Collectibles
Description
She has crossed frozen fjords and outlasted chieftains twice her size — Astrid does not seek glory, she simply keeps showing up after everyone else has fallen.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This is a display bust of Astrid, a fearsome human fighter drawn straight from the shield-wall tradition of Norse-inspired fantasy. The sculpt captures her mid-stance with a broad-bladed hand axe gripped low and a round, battle-worn shield slung at her back — its surface dented and crosshatched from hard use. She wears a riveted conical helm with a central spike, a chainmail hauberk layered over a wrapped belt and studded fauld, and pauldrons that speak of practical warfare rather than parade armour. Her long curling hair spills freely beneath the helm, and her expression carries the calm focus of a warrior who has already calculated the odds and found them acceptable. The flowing cloak behind her is caught mid-motion, giving the bust a sense of forward momentum despite its static form.
As a bust rather than a full figure, Astrid is built for painters who want to explore texture and contrast — the interplay between fine chainmail links, worn leather strapping, and the dented face of that shield alone offers hours of rewarding work. She stands equally well as a display centrepiece or as visual inspiration for a campaign's shieldmaiden NPC, a barbarian-fighter PC, or the legendary ancestor whose tomb the party is about to very unwisely desecrate.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a large-format painting project with rich surface texture and strong character
- Are building a Norse or Viking-inspired fantasy display collection
- Need a commanding female warrior bust for a shelf or showcase cabinet
- Are looking for visual inspiration for a fighter or barbarian PC or a memorable campaign NPC
Encounter Hook:
The jarl's hall has stood empty for three winters, its doors sealed by order of the surviving shield-sisters. When the party finally breaks the wax seal and pushes inside, the first thing they see — mounted above the cold hearth — is a carved bust of Astrid Ironhelm, the woman who held the eastern pass alone for six hours. The second thing they notice is that someone has placed a fresh candle at its base. It is still warm.

What's included:
One high-detail resin bust of Astrid, from the Dragon Blade collection by Primal Collectibles. Supplied unpainted and ready to prime. The bust includes an integrated display plinth base. Scaled to suit standard display bust proportions — this is a collector's display piece rather than a 32mm tabletop gaming miniature. Print quality is closely monitored and support marks are removed as standard, though minor surface imperfections inherent to the process may occasionally be present and are easily addressed with light sanding.
