This is the Hook Horror in full assault — mid-lunge, one massive scythe-like claw slashing wide while the other drives forward at full extension. The sculpt captures the creature mid-sprint, its powerful digitigrade legs pushing off the ground, taloned feet splayed for grip. The back is a ridge of dense bony spines and plated armour — a nightmare to grapple, and even worse to face head-on. The wide-jawed, horn-crested head is dropped low and aggressive, the posture of a hunter utterly committed to the kill.
Hook Horrors are a classic Underdark threat — territorial, eerily intelligent in packs, and deeply unsettling to encounter in the echo-rich tunnels of the deep places. Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the missing duergar scouts for two days when they find the first one — or rather, what the claws left behind. The scratches on the tunnel walls are fresh, still pale against the dark stone, spaced too wide apart to be any humanoid hand. Something large came through here at speed, and the echoes clicking back from the passage ahead tell them it has not gone far.
