The Holy Sister Priestess is one of those sculpts that tells you everything about her faith before a single die has been rolled. Her flowing robes and nun-like veil speak of devotion and discipline, but the heavy chains wrapped around her body, the skull-centred sunburst emblem at her waist, and the ornate ritual chest at her feet — adorned with further skulls and bound with rope — suggest a religious order that walks a much darker road than most temples would advertise.
Arms extended outward with open palms, she reads as simultaneously welcoming and commanding — the posture of someone delivering a sermon, performing a rite, or channelling divine power that has not been blessed by any god of light. The candles ringing her altar base are a wonderful touch, giving the whole piece a funerary or ceremonial quality that rewards a careful paint job. OSL work on those candle flames alone could make this a centrepiece.
She works equally well as a cleric PC with a morally complicated faith, a cult leader NPC driving your campaign's central mystery, or a divine spellcaster on the antagonist side of the aisle. The detailed base integrates naturally with the figure, making her as compelling on a display shelf as she is in the middle of an encounter.
Particularly well-suited for adventurers who want to:
- Play a cleric devoted to a death domain or morally grey deity
- Field a compelling cult leader or dark priestess NPC in their campaign
- Add a ritual caster to a Ravenloft or gothic horror setting
- Create a high-impact centrepiece for a religious or undead-themed display
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the village chapel to find the priest gone and the doors sealed. Within, candles ring an iron-banded chest they've never seen before, and a woman in chains stands at the altar — eyes open, hands outstretched, speaking in a language none of them recognise. She doesn't acknowledge them. The chest is warm to the touch.
