Hollow Sight is one of those sculpts that tells a story before a single brushstroke has been laid. A skeletal pirate stands upright in a crow's nest atop a salt-worn mast, one hand raising a telescope to his eyeless skull, the other brandishing a curved cutlass. Ghostly, wispy tendrils trail from his jaw and crown — the lingering remnants of the life he once had, or perhaps the dark energy that keeps him standing. Ragged coat, braided rope detail on the mast, coral and driftwood scattered across the base: this is a miniature packed with character and texture from every angle.

The crow's nest itself forms the centrepiece of an integrated scenic base that elevates this sculpt well beyond the tabletop standard. Barnacle-crusted timber, coiled rope, broken planking, and creeping coral growth all contribute to the sense of a vessel long surrendered to the deep — yet somehow still crewed. As a painting project, the contrast between bone, weathered wood, ghostly flame-like wisps, and rusted metal offers a genuinely rewarding challenge for painters of any level.

Whether he's the undying sentinel of a cursed ghost ship, a CR-appropriate nautical encounter for your seafaring campaign, or simply a striking display piece that demands a second look, Hollow Sight earns his place in any collection.

Particularly well suited for adventurers who:

  • Are running nautical, pirate, or ghost ship encounters in their campaign
  • Want a distinctive undead miniature with a striking integrated base
  • Enjoy ambitious painting projects with varied textures and materials
  • Are building out a cursed crew or haunted vessel encounter group
  • Collect display-worthy sculpts that stand out on the shelf

Encounter Hook: The party's ship is becalmed at midnight when a second vessel glides silently alongside — no lanterns, no crew visible, just the creak of rigging. Then, from the crow's nest, a telescope rises and slowly trains itself on the party. A hollow eye socket catches the moonlight. Hollow Sight has already reported back to whatever claims this ship, and the boarding party is already below the waterline.
