Hobgoblin Smuggler 02 by Novaminis
Description
He doesn't run contraband because he has to — he runs it because the Hobgoblin Warlord's army needs funds, and nobody moves black-market steel through the docklands quite like he does.

This is pose 02 of the Hobgoblin Smuggler range from Novaminis, and it carries a very different energy to its companion sculpt. Where some smugglers lurk, this one fronts it out — standing broad and unhurried, a wide-bladed sword held low in one hand and a studded mace gripped in the other, daring anyone to ask questions. The riveted face mask, skull medallion, and patchwork armour of bolted plates and chain speak to someone who has survived long enough in the criminal underworld to stop caring about subtlety. The braided cord at his shoulder and the heavily studded belt loaded with rings and loops suggest a figure who carries more than just weapons — someone who knows where the bodies, and the cargo, are buried.
Hobgoblins in D&D 5e are defined by their discipline and martial hierarchy, and this sculpt leans into the idea of one who applies that discipline to organised crime rather than open warfare — a quartermaster, enforcer, or black-market broker operating just beneath the notice of the city watch. He works equally well as a recurring NPC in an urban campaign, a mid-tier boss in a goblinoid criminal syndicate, or a grunt-level soldier who's been moonlighting in the wrong trade.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Are running urban intrigue or criminal underworld story arcs
- Need a hobgoblin enforcer, fence, or gang lieutenant for their campaign
- Want to field a varied hobgoblin warband with distinct visual identities across poses
- Are collectors who appreciate characterful, lore-grounded sculpts for their display shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party follows a lead on stolen temple artefacts to a waterfront warehouse — and finds it already occupied. A masked hobgoblin with a sword across his knees is sitting on a crate, entirely unbothered. He tells them, with quiet menace, that the artefacts passed through here three days ago, and that he'll tell them where they went — for the right price, and the right silence about what else was in that shipment.
