The hobgoblin rider sits astride a massively built owlbear, its body covered in layered feathers and coarse fur, taloned feet braced wide as though mid-charge. The rider wears spiked pauldrons and banded armour, and carries a long two-handed spear levelled forward — the stance of a disciplined cavalry soldier who has trained to kill from the back of a monster. The owlbear's beaked head is lowered, its expression predatory, making the whole composition read as a single coiled strike waiting to land.
