This Hobgoblin Bard is not a creature content to lurk in warbands and grunt orders — he has found a higher calling, and it involves a lute shaped suspiciously like a battleaxe. Clad in articulated plate and layered armour skirts, he stands in the commanding wide stance of someone who has learned that the best way to start a bar fight is to play three chords and walk away slowly. His long, braided hair flows freely behind him, and the ornate instrument he cradles is sculpted with scrollwork and mechanical flourishes that suggest either a gnomish luthier or a very confident hobgoblin with a forge and too much time.
The sculpt rewards painters with exceptional surface variety: the engraved geometric patterns on his chestplate sit alongside rough-wrapped greaves, a fur-lined pauldron, and the intricate fretwork and soundhole detail of his axe-guitar.
