Description
The river looked crossable — until the water moved, and two small eyes surfaced just ahead of the party's lead scout.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
Deceptively placid and devastatingly dangerous, the hippopotamus is one of nature's most formidable beasts. In D&D 5e terms, this is a Large Beast with a bite that can crunch through armour and a charge that will send even a seasoned Fighter tumbling. Whether you're running a jungle river crossing, a flooded dungeon sump, or an exotic animal market gone badly wrong, this sculpt brings that unmistakable mass and menace to the table with real conviction.
The sculpt captures every fold of thick, wrinkled hide and the heavy, low-slung posture that makes a hippo look like it's already decided to charge — it just hasn't bothered yet. The detail across the skin texture, toes, and facial features rewards careful painting, and it holds its own as a display piece just as readily as a gaming piece.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a credible Large Beast for wilderness, river, or exotic encounters
- Are building a safari, menagerie, or jungle adventure setting
- Want a centrepiece animal for environmental hazard encounters
- Enjoy painting highly textured creature sculpts
- Collect creature miniatures for display as well as gaming
Encounter Hook:
The merchant swore the crates were empty — but the dockside warehouse reeks of blood and river mud, three longshoremen have gone missing since dawn, and something inside the largest crate is breathing very slowly and very heavily.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Support marks are removed before dispatch; as with all resin work, minor surface imperfections may occasionally occur and are easily tidied up before priming.
