Rolen is an armoured warrior of considerable presence, clad in ornately sculpted plate decorated with swirling filigree and layered pauldrons. He stands sword in hand before his hippogriff companion — a magnificent beast with broad, feathered wings swept wide, a crested beak masked in battle-worn armour, and taloned eagle forelegs gripping a crumbling stone step. A ceremonial standard rises behind them, its sun-disc finial catching the wind. The composition is cinematic: two figures sharing a single ruined staircase base, each reinforcing the other's authority.
The sculpt rewards painters and collectors alike — the hippogriff's layered featherwork, the intricate knotwork on Rolen's breastplate, and the dynamic tension of the spread wings all carry extraordinary surface detail. As a tabletop piece, this two-figure set commands the battlefield the moment it hits the mat. At home on a display shelf, it holds its own as a standalone diorama.

Encounter Hook:

Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The rider and hippogriff are printed as separate pieces from their decorative diorama base — a small amount of superglue will bring the scene together. The base is very much part of the sculpt; the figures interact with it in a way that rewards keeping them together. Light clean-up of any minor support marks may be needed before priming.
