The Hippogriff is one of fantasy's most recognisable creatures — a creature of fierce pride, terrifying speed, and breathtaking silhouette. This sculpt from La Louve 3D captures it mid-display: wings fanned wide, talons planted, raptor's gaze fixed on whatever has dared enter its territory. The feathered breast and layered wing detail give the piece real visual weight, while the equine hindquarters and flowing tail bring a sense of coiled power about to be unleashed. Whether you're staging an aerial ambush or adding a magnificent beast to your display shelf, this miniature commands the space it occupies.
In D&D 5e, the Hippogriff is a Large Monstrosity with a dive attack that can knock the unwary flat. It's equally at home as a wilderness encounter, a tamed mount for a high-ranking knight, or the prize creature of a Feywild stable — and this pose, with wings spread and stance aggressive, suits every one of those roles.
Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, highland, or aerial encounter encounters
- Need a formidable mount miniature for a mounted knight or ranger
- Are building a Feywild or high fantasy overland campaign
- Collect large creature minis for display or painting projects
Encounter Hook:
The merchant caravan has been missing for three days. When the party crests the ridge, they find the wagons — overturned, cargo scattered, no bodies. Then, from the rocky spire above, a Hippogriff drops into a threat display, its nest lined with cloth bolts and broken wheel spokes. Someone brought this caravan too close to its territory, and now it thinks the adventurers are here to do the same.
Details
This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are supplied as separate pieces and can be fixed together with a small amount of glue — note that this sculpt is designed to interact with its base, so it looks its best when displayed together. The mini arrives ready for priming and painting, though it's equally striking unpainted on the tabletop.
