Herr Drosselmeyer is the kind of gnome artificer who has never once encountered a problem he couldn't solve with the right tool, the wrong tool applied creatively, or a gadget he invented on the spot. This sculpt captures him mid-inspiration: perched atop a step, wrench raised, goggles pushed up onto his brow, one hand clutching a gear or component as he addresses his automaton companion — a delightfully ornate mechanical figure with a face-like fascia and articulated legs. At his feet, a leather satchel spills tools and scrolls, and a stack of well-read tomes suggests a mind that never quite stops working. Whether he's the eccentric genius the party hires to crack an arcane lock, the rival inventor whose contraptions keep going slightly wrong, or a beloved player character who insists on building something impractical every long rest, this miniature brings enormous character to the table.
The sculpt is rendered as a digital render in unpainted grey, showcasing the exceptional surface detail — from the buttoned coat and buckled belt to the intricately decorated automaton and the cobblestone base. The level of detail makes this a genuinely rewarding paint project for collectors and hobbyists alike.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Play or DM with gnome artificer characters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Need a memorable quest-giver, eccentric NPC inventor, or clockwork-themed encounter
- Collect steampunk or arcane-tinged fantasy miniatures for display
- Want a sculpt with real narrative presence on the tabletop
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at a grand exhibition of arcane engineering — and finds Herr Drosselmeyer atop his display plinth, wrench in hand, arguing furiously with his own automaton, which has apparently developed opinions about its next modification. He needs someone to retrieve a stolen schematic before the judging panel arrives in one hour. He will absolutely build the party something in exchange. He has not asked what they want. He already knows.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale and ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please send us a note specifying which base style you'd prefer. The base (decorative or plain black) is supplied separately and can be attached with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is quality checked before dispatch; minor support marks can occur as part of the printing process and are easily tidied up with light sanding.
