Description

It looked almost like a puppy — right up until it pinned the skull beneath its paw and growled with a sound that came from somewhere much deeper than its throat.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Hell hounds are a staple of fiendish encounters, but there's something distinctly unsettling about meeting one before it's fully grown. This Hell Hound Puppy sculpt by Mia Kay captures that dissonance with real craft: the floppy ears and chunky puppy proportions sit in sharp contrast to the muscular, smoke-scarred body and the humanoid skull pinned beneath one paw. The snarling expression and wide, threatening stance make it clear — this is no lost dog. It's a creature of the lower planes, and it is absolutely guarding something.

Two poses are available in this range. The first shows the pup in a classic alert-and-guarding stance, tail raised, hackles up. The second — shown in close-up detail — has the pup crouched low over a skull, nose down, daring you to try and take it. Both read clearly at tabletop distance and reward careful painting with plenty of textured fur and craggy base detail.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Run infernal, devil-themed, or Nine Hells campaigns in D&D 5e
  • Want a memorable low-CR encounter that still unnerves the party
  • Are building a warlock's infernal coterie for display or the table
  • Enjoy painting creature minis with strong character and surface texture
  • Collect fiend-type miniatures for encounter variety

Encounter Hook:
The merchant's cellar smelled of brimstone, and the party dismissed it — until they heard the scrabbling from behind the locked door. Whatever the merchant made his deal with, it left something behind. Something small. Something that's been eating the rats. And it's getting bigger.
