This is the fourth sculpt in our Hellhound range from Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and it captures something the others don't quite manage: the terrifying momentum of a creature already in motion. Two distinct sculpts are visible here — one rearing up with claws outstretched and jaws wide, the other low and lunging, body pressed forward in a full sprint. Both share the same brutally detailed design: overlapping scale-and-hide armour across the back, pronounced dorsal spines, deep-set hollow eyes, and a maw full of irregular fangs. These aren't dogs with a flame palette swap. These are infernal predators built for the chase.
Hellhounds in D&D are creatures of Acheron and the Nine Hells — extensions of their fiendish masters' will, used to hunt down oathbreakers, drag back escaped souls, or simply be unleashed on a party that has overstayed their welcome in the wrong plane. Either pose here works beautifully as a solo boss threat in a lower-level encounter, a paired ambush alongside an Erinyes, or a summoned companion for a BBEG with a taste for infernal theatrics. Both are equally well-suited to display shelves and painting projects — the surface texture rewards a dark basecoat with drybrushing, and the scale detail holds washes brilliantly.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Need a visually distinct Hellhound for fiend-heavy or Avernus-adjacent campaigns
- Want a creature mini with genuine dynamism on the tabletop
- Enjoy painting textured armour, scale plating, and dramatic open-jaw expressions
- Are building a display collection of infernal and Devil-type creatures
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the tiefling warlock for three days through the Ashwood — but as the treeline thins, they realise with cold certainty that something has been tracking them. The sound of claws on stone grows closer, and then, from the darkness ahead, two pairs of hollow eyes catch the torchlight. The warlock's hounds have found them first.
Scaled at 32mm. Available with or without a plain black base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each piece is printed to a high standard; supports are removed before dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process can occasionally occur and are easily tidied up.
