This is a miniature that earns a second look. A small, scaly hedgehog-like creature — goggles perched on its broad snout, claws clutching a battered journal — rides a muscular giant frog across a lily-pad-strewn base scattered with driftwood and marsh flowers. The rider's pack is stuffed with rolled bedding, a lute, and an overflowing bundle of books, telling the story of a wandering sage who chose the most unconventional mount imaginable and has absolutely no regrets about it.
The frog itself is beautifully sculpted — leathery skin textured with warty detail, powerful haunches mid-stride, and a distinctly long-suffering expression that suggests it has carried this eccentric passenger across far too many boggy miles. The base integrates lily pads, a weathered log, and marsh flowers into a cohesive scenic piece that paints up brilliantly as a swamp vignette.
As a multipart sculpt, this miniature ships with both a decorative scenic base and a plain base, giving you the flexibility to display it as a characterful diorama or mount it for use on the gaming table. Supported and unsupported files mean painters of all experience levels can get the most from this sculpt.
- A wandering bard or artificer PC who refuses to travel any other way
- An eccentric NPC sage the party must track down through the Mere of Dead Men
- A herald or messenger for a bullywug tribe with an improbable academic streak
- A display piece showcasing your wetlands painting — marsh greens, muddy browns, and frog-skin textures
Encounter Hook: The party arrives at a remote fenland village to find it in uproar — someone has stolen the elder's sacred tome. A trail of damp frog prints and scattered ink leads into the marsh, where a dishevelled hedgehog scholar atop a giant frog insists he merely borrowed it for research and would very much like to discuss chapter seven before handing it back.
