Description

She still holds her lectures. She still marks her students' work. The fact that she died three decades ago is, in her view, entirely beside the point.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Professor Margaux de la Croix is the Headmistress of the Arcane University — and she is every bit as terrifying as that title implies. This sculpt from DM Stash captures her mid-incantation, her academic robes billowing dramatically as she raises a gnarled wand in one hand and clutches a forbidden tome in the other. Her hair erupts upward in writhing, flame-like tendrils, and her face — gaunt, skeletal, partially decomposed — carries the expression of someone who has heard every excuse in the book and is thoroughly unimpressed.

The detail on this miniature is exceptional throughout. Her long coat is covered in ornate lattice-work and scrollwork along the lapels, while her capelet frames the undead hollows of her cheeks with an unsettling academic formality. The base tells its own story: scattered candles and a human skull half-buried in rubble, suggesting a woman who holds her seminars wherever the bones happen to be.

She works equally well as a major villain in a dark academia campaign, a morally ambiguous patron with terrifying resources, or the most dangerous encounter in a magical institution gone badly wrong. Her sculpt has the gravitas of a BBEG and the detail to anchor a display shelf.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Are running a dark academia or arcane institution campaign
  • Need a compelling, distinctive undead spellcaster as a central antagonist
  • Want an NPC whose appearance communicates centuries of forbidden knowledge
  • Are building a Ravenloft or gothic horror encounter with a scholarly edge
  • Collect high-detail character miniatures as painting centrepieces

Encounter Hook: The party is hired to investigate a string of student disappearances at the Arcane University. Their enquiries lead them to a locked sub-basement where the missing pupils sit perfectly still at desks, quills moving across parchment — and at the head of the room, Professor Margaux de la Croix calls the seminar to order, her empty eye sockets turning toward the door. "Ah," she says. "New enrolments. Take your seats."

Details

Professor Margaux de la Croix is supplied as a single 32mm scale miniature, unpainted and ready to prime. The sculpt is shown in renders and photography as bare resin — no paint work required to appreciate the quality of the sculpt, but she is an extraordinary canvas for anyone who wants to bring her pallid academic horror to life. The scenic base — featuring scattered candles, bones, and a skull — is included as part of the sculpt.

Pairs well with other undead spellcasters and the gothic atmosphere of Ravenloft campaigns — or explore the full range from DM Stash.

A passion project that got slightly out of hand — in the best possible way.
