Lady Elara is the Head of Studies at the Arcane University — and every inch of her sculpt communicates authority worn lightly. Her wide-brimmed witch's hat curves to a dramatic peak and is adorned with a spiralling horn ornament, lending her an air of eccentric power. Her cloak billows wide as though caught mid-stride, while beneath it a corset and layered robes speak to someone who insists on looking composed even when she isn't.
The pose is wonderfully dynamic: one leg raised as she strides forward, a wand extended in one hand and the other outstretched in a gesture that might be a greeting or might be the opening of a spell — Elara keeps people guessing. At her feet, a fluffy cat familiar winds itself around her leg, which at Mitz & Simz we find particularly relatable. The sculpt's circular base features arcane sigils and runic engravings that make it a worthy display plinth even before paint touches it.
Viewed from the back, the sheer volume of her robes becomes clear — great sweeping folds of fabric that would reward both drybrushing and layering, offering a canvas for painters at any skill level. The cat familiar's fur texture is equally crisp, with individual tufts visible at this scale.
Lady Elara works equally well as a powerful NPC wizard or academic authority figure, a player character wizard or warlock who leans into the arcane scholar aesthetic, or a BBEG who turns out to be running the whole university for her own ends — which the players really should have seen coming.
This miniature suits adventurers who:
- Need a memorable wizard NPC for a magic academy or scholarly setting
- Are playing an arcane caster with a familiar and want a mini to match
- Enjoy the arcane university, magical college, or Strixhaven-adjacent campaign style
- Want a display mini with dynamic fabric detail and a character companion piece
Encounter Hook: The party has been summoned to Lady Elara's study to explain why half the university's restricted texts have gone missing — but as they wait for her to arrive, her familiar begins circling a particular bookcase with unsettling intent, and they realise Elara might already know far more than she's letting on.
