This is pose 01 of our Harpy Hunter range by Novaminis. Mid-descent and poised to strike, she captures the harpy at her most dangerous — wings fully spread, one clawed hand reaching forward with predatory intent, her wild dreadlocked hair trailing behind her as she swoops. Her avian legs end in powerful taloned feet, and crude bone and cord adornments speak to a creature of instinct and territory rather than civilisation. Every quill on those broad wings is individually sculpted, giving the piece a remarkable sense of weight and motion that reads brilliantly both on the tabletop and on a display shelf.
In D&D 5e, harpies are monstrosities that blend humanoid cunning with beast-like ferocity — creatures that lure prey with their Luring Song before diving in for the kill. This sculpt communicates that dual nature with real conviction. Whether she's swooping over an exposed mountain pass, harrying a ship's crew, or serving as a roost-guardian for a more powerful villain, she brings genuine narrative presence to any encounter.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a dynamic aerial threat for coastal, mountain, or open-world encounters
- Are building a harpy flock or nest encounter with multiple poses
- Want a centrepiece monster that stands out on the battle map
- Are looking for a compelling painting project with complex wing feather detail
- Collect fantasy monstrosities for display as well as play
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village of Saltmarrow has lost four boats in a fortnight — no storms, no wreckage, just silence. A salt-crusted survivor finally staggers ashore babbling about singing in the fog and shadows blotting out the sun. The party traces the attacks to a sea-cliff rookery where a harpy matriarch and her hunters have claimed the shipping lane as their hunting ground. The harpy hunter descends on the lead character before they've even finished reading the map.
