This is Harpy Crone 01, the first pose in Novaminis' Harpy Crone range — and she is a creature of quieter, more unsettling menace. Where younger harpies shriek and dive, the Crone stands hunched and deliberate, great feathered wings half-spread behind her like a ragged cloak. In one gnarled, taloned hand she grips a cord of skulls and bones — trophies, wards, or instruments of dark ritual, depending on what your campaign needs her to be. Her face is lost beneath cascading matted hair, her bird-like feet gripping the ground with coiled patience. Every surface of this sculpt rewards the painter: layered feather detail across the wings, the leathery texture of her robes, and the gnarly articulation of her clawed hands.
Whether you're running a coastal wilderness encounter, a mountaintop shrine to a forgotten god, or a cult that venerates these creatures as oracles, the Harpy Crone brings genuine narrative weight to the table. She works equally well as a boss monster, a sinister NPC, or a dramatic set piece on a display shelf.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Want a harpy that feels like a genuine threat rather than a standard encounter
- Are building a harpy nest, coastal dungeon, or sky cult for their campaign
- Love painting intricate feather and bone detail
- Collect dark fantasy monsters for display alongside their D&D collection
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to recover a missing scout — they find him alive but unresponsive, seated cross-legged on a clifftop shrine, staring out to sea. Standing motionless behind him, wings folded, is the Harpy Crone. She has not touched him. She does not move. She simply hums, low and rhythmic, and the scout's lips move in perfect time with hers.
