Description

The crowd fell silent as the jester balanced on one foot, daggers spinning lazily in each hand, and smiled a smile that never quite reached his eyes.

This is pose 3 of our Harlequin range from Great Grimoire — and it captures a character mid-performance with unsettling confidence. Balanced on one leg in a dancer's stance, he holds a dagger in each hand with the casual ease of someone who has thrown them at people before. His tall spiked hat, ruffled collar, laced doublet, and billowing sleeves all speak to a carnival showman of considerable flair — and considerable danger. The half-mask across his eyes only adds to the ambiguity: entertainer, spy, or something stranger entirely.

For Dungeon Masters, this sculpt is a gift. He works as a travelling performer with secrets, a thieves' guild courier hiding in plain sight, a Feywild emissary with motives nobody quite understands, or the charming face of a cult that recruits through applause. Players running Bards or Arcane Tricksters will find this pose speaks to that same knife-edge between performance and menace.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Need a charismatic, morally ambiguous NPC for a carnival or city arc
  • Are playing a Bard, Rogue, or Arcane Trickster and want a mini that sells the character
  • Are building a Feywild encounter with style and unease in equal measure
  • Want a display piece that earns a second look on the shelf

Encounter Hook:
The party spots him performing in the market square — three daggers aloft, crowd gathered close. When they ask the innkeeper about him later, she goes quiet and says only: "He's been here every night this week. Nobody knows where he sleeps."
