Hammer Wedged in Ice by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
Someone drove this hammer into the earth with enough force to split the stone beneath — and the ice that erupted around it hasn't thawed since.
- ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table
This scatter terrain piece depicts a heavy, broad-headed warhammer — its flat faces etched with interlocking Celtic knotwork and a central foliate medallion — driven deep into a jagged eruption of ice shards. The handle disappears into the frozen burst at the base, with a leather-wrapped loop just visible at the bottom. It reads immediately as something legendary: a weapon left behind by a fallen champion, a cursed relic frozen mid-strike, or the lingering aftermath of a frost cleric's divine smite. The detail on the hammerhead is genuinely striking — knotwork bands run across every panel, giving it the weight and history of a dwarven or northern-human heirloom.
Whether you're placing it on the table as a quest objective, using it to mark the epicentre of a cold-magic spell, or building it into a frozen dungeon centrepiece, this piece carries the visual authority to stop players in their tracks. It works equally well as a standalone display piece for collectors drawn to arcane weaponry and Norse-adjacent aesthetics.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a tactile, specific prop for legendary weapon quests or cursed artefact encounters
- Want to mark frozen terrain, cold-magic effects, or divine smite zones on the board
- Are building a frost dungeon, tundra overland map, or dwarven hall set dressing
- Collect display-worthy scatter pieces with genuine sculptural character
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the missing jarl's warhammer for three sessions — and here it is, buried to the haft in a column of unnaturally cold ice at the centre of the abandoned longhouse. The ice radiates a faint blue light. No one can explain how it got there. The hammer's knotwork glows faintly when the paladin approaches. Whatever drove it into the ground is still here.
Details
Supplied as a single piece at 32mm scale. As with all scatter terrain, it arrives ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box for a clean unpainted look. Hand-finished to remove supports, though minor marks from the printing process may occasionally be present — these are easily tidied up before painting.
