Description

Half the height of a true troll, twice the temper — and carrying a hammer that disagrees with anyone who says otherwise.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is sculpt #003 from Epic Miniatures — a broad-shouldered half-troll caught mid-swing, heaving an enormous stone-headed maul up over one shoulder with a gauntleted arm. He is stocky, barefoot, and undeniably furious. A braided beard hangs in twin ropes from his chin, adorned with a small ring clasp, and his thick hair is swept back from a heavy brow that says he has never once walked away from a fight he started. He wears a belted tunic with layered wraps at the waist, and his armoured gauntlet — riveted and reinforced — makes it very clear the hammer is not decorative.

The sculpt sits on a large 51mm base, giving him the physical presence his bulk demands at the table. Whether you paint him in earthy ochres and rough stone tones or go full warpaint savage, the surface detail — fabric folds, braided cord belt, hair texture, gauntlet plating — holds up beautifully and rewards patient layering. He is a large creature by any classification, and he fills that footprint with confidence.

As a gaming piece he slots naturally into any encounter that calls for a brutish humanoid enforcer: a troll chieftain's muscle, a quarry boss who has had enough of the delving party, or a creature the players have heard about in frightened whispers before they ever meet. As a display piece, the dynamic pose and dense surface detail make him a genuinely rewarding painting project.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Need a large, imposing humanoid bruiser for a mountain or wilderness encounter
  • Are building out a troll clan or monstrous humanoid warband
  • Want a piece that doubles as a centrepiece painting project
  • Prefer their BBEGs to look like they could win a fight with their own fists, let alone a maul

Encounter Hook

The mountain pass has been closed for three weeks. Merchants blame bandits; the locals know better. A half-troll they call Grettarstone has claimed the road as his toll bridge, and his rates are not negotiable. The party hears the hammer before they see him — a rhythmic crack against stone as he waits, patient and certain, at the mouth of the gorge.
