Description

Half eagle, half lion, and bound by no master — the griffin is a symbol of sovereign power that has never once accepted a leash.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

From Primal Collectibles' Chronicles of Excalibur range, this griffin sculpt captures the beast mid-challenge, talons gripping shattered rock as its wings spread wide and its hooked beak opens in a defiant cry. The detail across every layer of feathering — from the dense chest plumage to the long primary flight feathers — rewards both close inspection and a full coat of paint. The muscular lion hindquarters contrast beautifully with the avian forepart, and the integrated rocky rubble base gives the whole composition a sense of violent momentum, as if something very foolish got too close a moment ago.

Griffins in D&D 5e are CR 2 Monstrous beasts with a Multiattack that combines beak and talons — fierce enough to menace a low-level party, and visually arresting enough to anchor a set-piece encounter. This sculpt works equally well as a roaming wilderness predator, a noble house's heraldic guardian brought to cursed life, or a prized mount for a knightly order whose rider has met an untimely end. It's a compelling addition to any display shelf alongside other creatures from the Arthurian-flavoured range.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a CR 2 beast encounter with real table presence
  • Are building an Arthurian, chivalric, or high-fantasy campaign setting
  • Want a mounted creature that doubles as a standalone display piece
  • Enjoy painting complex layered feather and fur textures
  • Are collecting the Chronicles of Excalibur range

Encounter Hook:
The knights of House Valoryn kept a breeding pair of griffins as their honour guard — but the castle fell three winters past, and now the surviving griffin haunts the surrounding highlands alone. When the party's horses go missing in the night, hoof prints lead to a rocky outcrop where the creature stands vigil over what it has claimed, its eyes reflecting the torchlight with cold, territorial intelligence. It isn't attacking. Not yet. But it is very clearly deciding.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and its detailed rocky rubble base are separate pieces, designed to be attached with a small amount of glue — and the base is very much worth including, as the sculpt is composed to interact with it directly. Comes ready for priming and painting, or use as-is straight from the box. Three distinct poses are available in this range — browse the full Chronicles of Excalibur griffin selection to find the one that suits your table best.
