This sculpt captures the gryphon mid-landing, wings dramatically spread and a broad feathered crest raised in challenge. Every individual feather is rendered with care, from the layered primaries of the outstretched wings down to the tightly packed breast feathers. The muscular lion hindquarters are tense, claws digging into a rocky outcrop base, while the razor-sharp beak is angled downward — this creature is not retreating. It is arriving, and it is not pleased.
In D&D 5e, gryphons are classified as Monstrosities — fiercely territorial aerial hunters that bond for life with a single rider if tamed young. On the tabletop, this miniature works equally well as a wild apex predator stalking mountain passes, a loyal mount for a knightly NPC, or the prized companion of a fallen paladin whose death has left it grieving and dangerous. It holds its own on a display shelf just as powerfully as it does in the middle of a battle map.
