Grim Reaper by Epic Miniatures

The harvester comes not in silence but in fury — robes torn, scythe raised, bony jaw agape in a soundless shriek that echoes through the halls of the dying.

This Grim Reaper sculpt from Epic Miniatures captures death's emissary in full, violent motion — a skeleton wreathed in tattered, billowing robes, lunging forward with a great barbed scythe levelled for a devastating strike. The cowl is pulled low over a grinning skull, jaw wrenched open mid-wail, and every shred of fabric tears away from the figure as though reality itself is coming undone in its wake. Exposed finger bones grip the scythe's haft with ferocious intent, while skeletal feet claw at the ground beneath the trailing shroud. This is not death standing patiently — this is death coming for you.

The sculpt rewards painters at every level. The voluminous robes offer sweeping surfaces that respond beautifully to layered washes and OSL effects, while the intricate scythe blade, exposed ribcage, and skull face provide focal points for fine detail work. Whether you choose a classic bone-and-shadow palette or something more theatrical — ghostly greens, cold void-blacks, spectral blues — the composition holds up from every angle.

On the gaming table, this miniature works equally well as a Death Knight's manifested will, a Reaper-class undead creature, a Nightwalker's herald, or the literal embodiment of a necromancer's most terrible power. Off the table, it commands a display shelf with the kind of kinetic presence that makes passers-by stop mid-sentence.

Suits adventurers who:

• Run Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or gothic horror campaigns and need undead with genuine menace
• Want a centrepiece enemy for a Necromancer BBEG's inner sanctum

Encounter Hook

The village sexton was found at dawn, slumped over the churchyard gate — stone cold and aged thirty years overnight. By nightfall, the party hears it: the rhythmic dragging of something heavy across cobblestones, growing closer. When the mist parts, the Reaper stands at the end of the lane, scythe raised, robes twisting in a wind that isn't there. It has a name in its hollow skull. It might be one of theirs.
