Description

It moved. The whole mausoleum — spires, tracery, iron doors and all — lurched forward on pale, skeletal legs, and the screaming faces pressed into its walls were not carvings.

The Ossuary Womb is one of the most unsettling sculpts in the Great Grimoire catalogue, and the images speak for themselves. What appears to be a Gothic stone chapel — complete with pointed arches, quatrefoil window reliefs, iron-banded roofing, and ornate spires — is in fact a living abomination. Gaunt, cadaverous limbs erupt from beneath the structure's base, dragging it forward on clawed fingers and splayed, corpse-like feet. The open front face reveals a writhing mass of skulls, bulging eyes, and half-formed bodies fused into the walls, as though the building itself is composed of compacted dead.

This is Gravebinder 03 in Great Grimoire's Gravebinder range. Where earlier entries in the series lean into necromancer or undead priest aesthetics, the Ossuary Womb functions as a creature — a shambling, necrotic structure that belongs in a cemetery crawl, a cursed cathedral, or as the unspeakable centrepiece of a necromancer's lair. The sculpt has been rendered in grey resin across all three angles, showing off the extraordinary surface detail on every face of the structure: the cracked stonework, the gothic ironwork, the horror emerging from within. It's a genuine showpiece for painters and a nightmare-fuel encounter piece for Dungeon Masters.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a genuinely unsettling boss monster or undead abomination for their campaign
  • Are running a necromancer's stronghold, haunted graveyard, or Ravenloft-style gothic horror arc
  • Want a display piece that doubles as a centrepiece encounter miniature
  • Are collectors drawn to the grotesque intersection of architecture and body horror

Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a missing burial wagon to the grounds of an abandoned church. As the cleric steps through the lich-gate, the flagstones tremble — and the chapel itself rises on all fours, its doors swinging open to reveal not pews, but faces. The Ossuary Womb has been feeding on the village's dead for months, and it is not finished.

This miniature is printed at 35mm scale. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, just send us a message and we'll adjust. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please include a note specifying which of the three base styles you'd like. Bases (decorative or plain black) are supplied separately for easy attachment.
