The Grandrat Swordsman Bust is a display-scale portrait of a warrior who has clawed his way to the top of the pack — and intends to stay there. Sculpted by Witchsong Miniatures, this piece captures the Grandrat mid-snarl: jaw wide open revealing rows of jagged teeth, deep-set eyes half-shadowed beneath a spiked helm, and a heavy hooded cloak layered over articulated pauldrons. Braided leather wraps his shoulders and upper body, and a dense fur collar frames the whole composition from below — giving painters a wealth of contrasting textures to work through, from smooth metal to rough hide to matted fur.
The bust sits on a decorative plinth with riveted panelling and a cobblestone top, giving it a finished, display-ready silhouette straight off the print. Whether you're planning a grimy underworld palette or a war-worn rust and leather scheme, this sculpt rewards careful brushwork at every level of detail. It also makes for compelling visual reference when building a ratfolk crime lord, a mercenary captain, or a particularly dangerous enemy NPC for your campaign.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Want a demanding, high-detail painting project with rich texture variety
- Are building a display shelf of fantasy busts and character portraits
- Need visual inspiration for a ratfolk warlord, guild enforcer, or dungeon boss
- Are looking for a striking centrepiece gift for a fellow hobbyist or dungeon master
Encounter Hook:
The party has tracked the stolen guild shipment to a warehouse deep in the warrens. At the far end of the room, flanked by a dozen armed skaven, sits their informant's description made flesh — the Grandrat himself, helm on, cloak back, already smiling. He knew they were coming. He's been waiting.
Details
This is a display bust, not a standard tabletop combat miniature — it is designed to showcase expression, character, and painting technique. Printed in high-quality resin at our UK studio, supports are removed before dispatch. As with all resin pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before painting. All pieces are fully cured.
