This is no simple grave marker. The Grand Sarcophagus 01 is a weighty, imposing centrepiece — a box-form coffin with deeply carved floral and scroll filigree across every panel, studded with bold conical spikes at the corners and along the edges. The lid, itself bristling with additional spikes and ornate cut-through patterning, is sculpted as a separate piece, allowing you to play it sealed and foreboding or cracked open to reveal the hollow interior within. It reads equally well as a vampire's resting place, a sealed reliquary, or the final resting spot of a forgotten tyrant.
The sculpt rewards careful painting. The raised filigree channels washes beautifully, and the contrast between the smooth inner walls and the heavily decorated exterior gives painters several distinct surfaces to work across. Dry-brushed stone, aged bronze, tarnished gold — this piece responds well to all of them. On the table it serves as a genuine focal point for crypt, tomb, and dungeon encounters. On a shelf, it holds its own as a display piece.
