This Gothic Necromancer Throne is a centrepiece terrain piece designed for the most theatrical of villain reveals. The sculpt features a high-backed throne whose silhouette is dominated by a gothic arch frame — itself flanked by twin candelabras bristling with tapered candles and topped with ornate globe finials. Along the outer arch, a braided spine-like chain of interlocked bones curves overhead, lending the whole piece an unmistakably macabre anatomy. At the throne's crown, a skull mounted within a sunburst medallion gazes out over the seat below.
The backrest is carved with a skeletal ribcage in relief — as though the throne itself was grown from the bones of those who dared challenge its owner. Knotwork panels line the armrests and side columns in Celtic-adjacent funerary designs, while the lower panels bear raised rose motifs that hint at a grim elegance beneath the horror. The base is scattered with skulls and crumbled remains, as if supplicants and failed adventurers alike have been reduced to this final audience.
The second image — a photograph of the actual printed piece in unpainted grey resin, shown alongside a standard D20 for scale — confirms the remarkable level of detail this sculpt carries at tabletop size. Every candle, bone-link, and skull registers cleanly. The piece is taller than a standard 32mm miniature, making it a commanding focal point on any encounter map.
This listing also includes a smaller companion piece: a matching gothic arch shrine or reliquary, visible in both images to the right of the throne. It shares the same candle-flanked gothic aesthetic and works equally well as a standalone altar, a secondary objective marker, or an environmental detail in the same dungeon chamber.
Particularly well-suited for adventurers who want to:
- Stage a dramatic lair reveal for a necromancer BBEG or lich
- Build out a Ravenloft, Shadowfell, or undead dungeon encounter space
- Create an atmospheric display diorama for a villain miniature
- Add thematic scatter terrain to a gothic horror campaign
- Give their Dungeon of the Mad Mage or Curse of Strahd table the set-dressing it deserves
Encounter Hook
The party has tracked the stolen phylactery to the deepest vault beneath the Ashenveil Mausoleum. They push open the iron doors to find a chamber lit only by hundreds of candles — and upon the throne at its centre, a robed figure who does not look up. "I wondered," says the necromancer, bones rising from the floor around them, "how long it would take you to find me."
