This is a Huge-scale sculpt — towering over standard 32mm miniatures exactly as a battle-ready war troll should. The troll itself is an absolute brute: barrel-chested, fang-bared, and lurching forward with one arm outstretched mid-throw. A hapless goblin clings to that extended fist, wide-eyed and airborne, making for a darkly comic yet genuinely threatening centrepiece. The troll's back is a masterclass in chaotic goblinoid engineering — a towering frame of lashed timber and iron carries a war banner, a full quiver of arrows, chains trailing from spiked manacles, and what appears to be a crossbow bolted into the whole assembly. A skull-adorned shield is strapped to the troll's chest, and rope-and-fang jewellery hangs from its neck. Every surface tells a story of crude battlefield improvisation taken to its absolute limit.
The troll's expression — roaring mouth, exposed tusks, deeply set brow — captures the exact energy of a creature that is both weapon and warrior. The sculpt balances genuine menace with a streak of goblinoid absurdity that will delight players and DMs alike. Painted up, this piece would reward bold, grimy contrast work: mossy greens and ochres for the skin, rusted iron for the chains and spikes, and weathered leather and wood for the towering back-rack.
This miniature works brilliantly for adventurers who:
- Run goblin warband encounters and want a centrepiece heavy-hitter
- Need a Huge creature to fill the role of an ogre, troll, or custom boss
- Want a display piece that tells a complete tactical story on its own
- Are building out a goblinoid army with a range of unit sizes
- Appreciate sculpts that walk the line between threatening and brilliantly ridiculous
Encounter Hook
The party hears the battle before they see it — a rhythmic crashing through the treeline, followed by a goblin arcing overhead and landing in the road ahead of them, still clutching its spear. Moments later, the undergrowth explodes outward and the troll responsible lumbers into view, its back-rack swaying under the weight of six more screaming volunteers, each one jostling to be next.
Details
This is a Huge-scale resin miniature — noticeably larger than a standard 32mm piece, as shown in the scale reference visible in the product image. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled if required, ready for priming and painting. The digital render shows the sculpt in its raw orange resin preview finish, giving a clear view of the crisp surface detail across the troll, the carried goblin, and the elaborate back-mounted war-rack.
