Description

The laughing had stopped by the time the party crested the ridge — but the trail of splintered shields and gnawed bones made it clear the pack had passed through here not an hour ago.

This is the fifth sculpt in Novaminis' Gnoll Marauder range, and it carries the full weight of that lineage. This particular warrior is caught mid-stride in an aggressive forward lunge — a broad-bladed battle axe swinging wide in one furred, armoured hand, whilst a spiked flail dangles from the other, trailing heavy chain links. The gnoll's hyena maw is open, teeth bared in that unnerving cackle, with wild tufts of mane framing a face that radiates feral menace. Patchwork armour covers the shoulders and upper arms — studded, spiked, and riveted together from whatever scraps the pack has torn from previous victims — whilst tattered wrappings hang loose around the torso and legs. The clawed feet are bare and ready to close ground fast.

Gnolls in D&D lore are driven by the influence of Yeenoghu, demon lord of savagery, and this sculpt captures exactly that frenzied, hunger-fuelled aggression. Whether you're running a wilderness ambush, a gnoll warband encounter, or building out a full raiding pack, Marauder 05 brings a distinct and threatening silhouette to the table. The level of sculptural detail — from the fur texture on the forearms to the individual chain links on the flail — also makes this a genuinely rewarding painting project for hobbyists and collectors alike.

A great fit for adventurers who:

  • Need varied gnoll soldiers for a warband or raiding party encounter
  • Are Dungeon Masters building out savage wilderness or desert ambush scenarios
  • Collect Novaminis' Gnoll Marauder range and want the complete set
  • Enjoy painting detailed creature minis with layered armour and fur textures
  • Want a display piece that looks as threatening on a shelf as it does on the board

Encounter Hook:
The merchant convoy reached the waystation at dusk — or what remained of it. Claw marks scored the walls three feet up, the well had been fouled, and from somewhere in the dark treeline came the sound of something laughing. The gnoll marauder stepped into the torchlight alone, flail swinging in lazy circles. It was not alone.
