Gloria is the kind of NPC who stops adventuring parties cold the moment they walk through the door. Sculpted by Great Grimoire as part of their Great Folks: Common People, Uncommon Tales range, she stands with one hand on her hip and a gaze that could curdle milk at twenty paces. Whether she's the innkeeper who's seen too much, the housekeeper hiding a nobleman's secrets, or the village elder the party dismissed far too quickly, Gloria radiates the quiet authority of someone who has outlasted every problem that ever came her way.
The sculpt captures a mature woman in period working dress — a ruffled apron over a full skirt, puffed sleeves, and hair pinned neatly beneath a cap. Her expression is guarded, calculating, and entirely too composed for someone supposedly just serving meals. She's a character before a single word of dialogue has been written.
Gloria suits adventurers who:
- Need a memorable quest-giver, information broker, or reluctant ally
- Want a grounded, realistic NPC that makes their town feel genuinely lived-in
- Are running urban intrigue, gothic horror, or low-fantasy campaigns
- Collect characterful townsfolk and civilian miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the Broken Wheel Inn expecting a warm meal and a quiet night. Gloria sets down their drinks without a word — but her eyes linger on the party's rogue for just a beat too long. Later, tucked under one of the mugs, there's a folded scrap of paper. No signature. Just two words: Leave tonight.
Gloria is printed at 32mm scale and arrives ready for priming and painting or straight to the tabletop as-is. Printed in high-quality resin with supports removed; minor marks are possible but easily tidied up.
