This is a big one. The Glacier Dragon by Epic Miniatures occupies a gargantuan 102mm base and earns every millimetre of it. The sculpt captures the dragon mid-contemplation — wings spread to their full, imposing span, one foreclaw raised as though weighing up whether the approaching adventurers are worth its time. The answer, the pose implies, is probably no.
The detail across the sculpt is exceptional. The wings carry deep feathered membrane striations, each tip ending in curved, talon-like hooks. The neck is plated with layered ridge scales, and a crown of sharp dorsal spines fans out behind the head. The underbelly scales transition cleanly into thicker armour plating along the flanks, and the coiled tail wraps around the rocky outcrop base, reinforcing the sense that this creature owns everything it stands on.
The integrated base is a fractured stone formation — broken slabs of rock piled and cracked beneath the dragon's weight, with rubble scattered across the ground. It reads immediately as a mountain peak, a glacial ridge, or the ruins of some fortification foolish enough to be built in the dragon's territory. The combination of the base and the rearing pose gives the mini tremendous presence from every angle — particularly from the rear, where the full wingspan dominates the view.
Whether you paint it in icy whites and pale blues for a classic white or frost dragon, or take it in a different direction entirely, this sculpt rewards patient brushwork and will hold its own as a centrepiece encounter or a display piece between sessions.
