This is the Gith Captain 01 — the first sculpt in Novaminis' Gith Captain range, and it makes an immediate impression. The figure stands tall and commanding, one arm extended outward with a single pointing finger — a gesture that reads equally as a tactical order, a psionically-charged challenge, or the last instruction your party will hear before things go badly. The other arm hangs loose, clawed fingers splayed, conveying a coiled, predatory stillness.
The sculpt leans into the lean, angular physicality the Gith are known for — a muscular torso left largely bare above an ornate studded belt, with distinctive Githyanki bracers and knee guards decorated with raised circular motifs. A long cape sweeps dramatically behind the figure, adding weight and presence. The face is gaunt and fierce, framed by wild upswept hair and long braided locs that trail down the back — a warrior-noble who has survived the Astral Plane long enough to command respect through sheer bearing alone.
As the first variation in this series, this sculpt is the commanding-officer pose — authoritative, directing, dangerous. It reads clearly as a senior figure whether you field it as a Githyanki warlord, a Gith pirate captain aboard a spelljamming vessel, or a high-ranking military commander in a mind flayer conflict campaign.
This miniature suits adventurers who want to:
- Run Spelljammer or Astral Sea encounters with a memorable Githyanki antagonist
- Add a commanding officer to a Gith warband encounter group
- Field a high-CR named NPC or BBEG-tier captain in a nautiloid boarding scenario
- Paint an expressive, characterful figure with strong silhouette and rich surface detail
- Collect the full Gith Captain range across multiple poses
Encounter Hook: The party's spelljammer drops out of the Astral Sea right into a patrol corridor — and standing on the prow of the nearest vessel is a single Githyanki captain, arm extended, already pointing directly at them. He hasn't drawn a weapon. He hasn't needed to. Roll for initiative.
Details
Scale: 32mm (standard tabletop scale). Supplied unpainted and unassembled if applicable — ready to clean, prime, and paint. The detail level on this sculpt — particularly the braided locs, the ornamented belt, and the textured bracers — rewards a careful paint job and responds well to washes and layered highlighting.
