Description

Something lurks beneath the bog's surface — not root nor vine, but appetite given form, a vast carnivorous intelligence that has been waiting, patient and ravenous, for something foolish enough to wander close.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Giga Flytrap is a genuinely unsettling sculpt — and that's meant as the highest compliment. This is no decorative flower-monster. It is a multi-limbed, multi-mawed predator: a bloated central body bristling with spines and overlapping chitin plates, supported on four splayed insectoid legs that look ready to skitter forward at any moment. Two long, segmented tendrils erupt from its mass, each terminating in a wide, tooth-ringed snap-trap head — the kind of jaw that doesn't just close, it devours. The trap heads are dotted with sensory pits and ringed with outward-curving fangs, making them look like something between a Venus flytrap and a deep-sea anglerfish's maw.

From the front, the creature presents a chaotic wall of threat: the twin tendrils raised high and spread wide, the central body's own mouthparts visible beneath a crest of spines, and those unsettling legs already mid-stride. From the rear, you can see the full texture of the armoured carapace — segmented, layered, and rough with growth — and the way the tendrils articulate from the shoulder mass gives it an organic, almost coral-like silhouette. It sits on a large 51mm oval base, which is exactly the footprint this beast demands.

This is a large-sized miniature with genuine presence on the table. Whether you're running a swamp hex-crawl, a corrupted forest encounter, or a Underdark nightmare involving animated plant-horrors, the Giga Flytrap earns its place as a memorable set piece.

Particularly well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Run nature-corrupted wilderness or swamp encounters in D&D 5e or Pathfinder
  • Need a visually distinctive large-sized plant monster to anchor an encounter
  • Want a centrepiece creature that rewards careful painting — the texture detail is genuinely rich
  • Are building out an Underdark or deep forest encounter group with non-humanoid horrors
  • Collect large fantasy creature miniatures for display alongside their painted armies

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to find a merchant's missing wagon on the old Thornmere road. They find the horses first — or rather, what's left of them, pressed against the treeline in a clearing that feels wrong somehow. The grass is too still. The air smells faintly of digestion. And then the undergrowth shifts, and two great jaw-tipped arms rise slowly from the canopy of a thing that was never a tree at all.
