The Giga Flytrap is not a plant so much as a predator that decided plants had the right idea. Mounted on a large 51mm base, this sculpt presents a creature of terrifying biological ambition: a writhing mass of bark-like limbs and gnarled, root-splayed legs supporting a swollen body crowned with enormous spiked fin-wings. The central mass is dominated by a gaping maw lined with overlapping, blade-like teeth — several rows deep — and ringed by smaller fang clusters that suggest nothing so much as an appetite that has simply run out of room to express itself.

The fin-wings are spread wide in an aggressive display, their undersides covered in a pockmarked, scaly texture broken by long curved spines. The bark-like surface of the legs and lower body gives the creature a disturbingly organic quality — part animal, part woodland horror, entirely wrong. This is not a monster that hides in a dungeon. This is a monster that is the wilderness.

From the front angle, the full ferocity of the maw is on display alongside the creature's hunched, coiled posture — a thing about to lunge. From behind, the layered structure of the fin-wings and the contorted bend of the body reveal how much sculpted detail Epic Miniatures have packed into every surface. Both angles reward a close look on the painting table.

Brilliant for adventurers who:

  • Run wilderness ambush encounters or haunted forest campaigns
  • Need a large, memorable plant-type monster with real table presence
  • Want a centrepiece creature for swamp, jungle, or corrupted forest encounters
  • Are building a bestiary of monstrous flora to challenge high-level parties
  • Love painting organic textures — bark, chitin, wet flesh, and scale all in one model

Encounter Hook

The party has been tracking a missing ranger for two days when they find her pack — half-digested — hanging from the branches of what they took to be a dead tree. As the druid steps forward to investigate, the bark ripples, the earth heaves, and the Giga Flytrap unfolds itself to its full, terrible height. It has been perfectly still for six hours. It is very hungry.
