In D&D 5e, the Giant Wasp is more than a random encounter filler — it's an apex predator of wetlands, ruins, and overgrown wilderness, capable of paralysing a fighter before they've drawn their blade. This sculpt from Primal Collectibles captures that raw, predatory menace in extraordinary detail. Four bat-like wings spread wide in threat display, segmented chitinous legs end in razor-sharp points, and compound-eyed mandibles gape open, ready to strike. The creature towers over a rocky outcrop base scattered with skulls and skeletal remains — the evidence of past hunts ground into the earth beneath it.
The sculpt rewards close attention: every abdominal segment, every spiked leg joint, and every vein in the translucent-looking wings reads clearly even from across a gaming table. Whether you paint it in natural yellows and blacks or go for something more unsettling — a sickly iridescent carapace, perhaps — this miniature has the surface depth to carry any colour scheme. Equally at home as a display piece on a shelf or a centrepiece creature on your battlemat.
A sound choice for adventurers who:
- Run wilderness, jungle, or ruin-crawl encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
- Want a Beast-category monster with genuine table presence
- Enjoy detailed creature sculpts that hold up on display shelves as well as on the board
- Are building a bestiary of painted miniatures and need a memorable flying predator
Encounter Hook:
The druid's Speak with Animals spell picks up a single, frantic word repeating from the treeline: nest, nest, nest. Moments later, the ground vibrates — and something the size of a carthorse drops from the canopy directly above the rogue, stinger first, wings throwing up a storm of leaves and bone fragments from the kills already piled at its feet.

What's included:
One Giant Wasp miniature printed at 32mm scale, supplied with its detailed skull-strewn rocky base as a separate piece (attach with superglue). The base and model interact closely — the creature perches on the rocky plinth in a way that makes the integrated base well worth using. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork. Minor support marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before priming.
