This Giant Spider sculpt from Monster Atlas is a serious piece of creature design. The abdomen is broad and covered in jagged spines, the cephalothorax carries a cluster of bulbous compound eyes ringed with chitinous ridges, and the chelicerae are thick, hooked, and deeply unsettling. Three digital renders show the miniature from different angles — front-facing with forelegs raised, a side profile showing the full leg span and abdominal spines, and a rear three-quarter view that reveals just how imposing that spiked body is from behind. Every angle tells you this thing is not a swarm filler — it is a centrepiece encounter creature.
Whether you're running a drow-infested Underdark dungeon, a forest riddled with arachnid nest tunnels, or a Lolth-touched temple where the webs are as old as the stonework, this sculpt has the visual authority to hold the table's attention. It works equally well as a gaming piece and as a display miniature for collectors who appreciate creature design with genuine menace.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run Underdark or drow-themed D&D campaigns and need a spider that feels genuinely threatening
- Want a centrepiece monster for web-trap encounters, nest ambushes, or Lolth encounter tables
- Are building a creature collection of painted display minis
- Need a visually distinct Giant Spider that reads clearly at the gaming table
Encounter Hook:
The ranger notices it first — the way the webbing is thicker here, older, layered over years rather than hours. Then the rogue spots the cocooned shapes hanging from the ceiling, each one roughly humanoid in size. The spider drops from directly above the paladin before anyone can call out a warning.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The miniature and base are separate pieces, intended to be attached with superglue. The decorative base complements the sculpt and some models interact with it naturally, so we recommend using it. Arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brush or ready to use straight from the box.
