The Giant Spider is a D&D classic for good reason: few creatures conjure that immediate, visceral dread quite like a web-wrapped lair with something moving at the edges of torchlight. This sculpt from Atlanticus Arts captures the creature with impressive naturalism — a bulbous, heavily textured abdomen, segmented legs bristling with spines, and multiple forward-facing eyes that make it unmistakably, uncomfortably real. The base features a rocky, moss-scattered ground, giving it a sense of place whether it's lurking in a cavern, a drow outpost, or the root-tangled floor of a cursed forest.
Available in two scales — 12.5mm body on a 50mm base — this mini works equally well as a table-ready encounter piece or a display model in its own right. The sculpt holds fine detail beautifully, making it a rewarding painting project for those who like a naturalistic brown-and-ochre palette, or a quick drybrush for Dungeon Masters who need it ready for next session.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run dungeon-crawl or Underdark-themed D&D 5e campaigns
- Need a reliable, detailed spider monster for web-trap encounters
- Want a centrepiece creature for a drow lair or forest witch's den
- Enjoy painting creepy-crawly naturalistic miniatures
- Are building a display collection of classic D&D beasts
Encounter Hook:
The rogue spots it first — a cocoon the size of a halfling hanging from the ceiling, and then another, and another. Before anyone can count them, the web-strands anchoring the far wall begin to vibrate, and eight enormous eyes catch the light of the paladin's shield.
Supplied as a single miniature on an integrated scenic base. The base body measures approximately 12.5mm with a 50mm base diameter. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. The sculpt holds fine surface detail well and suits both speed-painting and careful blending techniques.
