Giant rats are among the most versatile and underappreciated creatures in the dungeon master's toolkit. Lurking in sewers, plague pits, abandoned granaries, and the lightless corridors beneath forgotten keeps, they serve as early-game threats, environmental hazards, and — when summoned by a necromancer or warlock — harbingers of something far worse. These two sculpts capture that threat with impressive detail: the first is a sleek, powerfully built rat in a low, prowling stance, fangs bared and tail curled tight around its base; the second is a diseased, battle-scarred specimen covered in open sores, raised hackles, and spines along its back — the kind of creature that makes even seasoned adventurers check their constitution saves.
Both variants are sculpted with the texture and anatomy that reward careful painting — the matted fur, the exposed incisors, the taut, muscular legs ready to lunge. Whether you're fielding a swarm encounter in a city undercroft or placing a single monstrous specimen as a boss-tier pest in a Ratfolk lair, these minis bring genuine menace to the table. They're equally at home on a dungeon shelf as they are on a gaming board.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Need convincing giant rat tokens for D&D 5e, Pathfinder, or any TTRPG encounter
- Are building sewer maps, plague-ridden districts, or Underdark lairs
- Want a diseased variant to represent cursed or mutated creatures
- Collect and paint beast-type monsters for display
- Run encounters involving wererats, ratfolk, or vermin swarms
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to investigate a merchant's missing grain shipment. The warehouse cellar is intact — the locks unbroken, the doors sealed — but every sack has been gnawed through from below. As they lift the last crate, the floor shifts, and something large and reeking of rot hauls itself into the lamplight, sores weeping, eyes black and fixed.

What's included:
This listing includes both giant rat sculpts — the standard prowling variant and the diseased variant — printed at 32mm scale. The standard rat comes attached to its integral oval base as a single piece. The diseased variant includes a textured scenic base with spines and bone details. Both arrive unpainted and ready for priming. As with all hand-finished prints, minor surface marks are possible; any small imperfections can be sanded or filled before painting.
