Description

The webs came first — stretched between the stalagmites like gossamer trip-wires — and then, from the dark above, eight bladed legs descended in perfect silence.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is a large-sized sculpt — as the scale reference in the render clearly shows, this spider sits considerably larger than a standard d20, making it an imposing presence on any encounter grid. Eight articulated, blade-tipped legs splay outward from a broad, heavily armoured thorax, each limb segmented and sharply pointed at the tip. The abdomen is the centrepiece: a great swollen sphere covered in intricate raised patterning — flowing organic sigils, ridged panels, and what appear to be stylised eye-like markings pressed into the carapace. The overall effect is something between a natural predator and something far worse — as though this spider has been changed by years in the deep dark into something stranger and more dangerous than its surface cousins.

The sculpt is a digital render shown in warm terracotta resin tone, unpainted, with crisp pre-supported detail throughout. The raised surface texture on the abdomen in particular is exceptionally well defined — a painter's gift, with natural shadows already built into every groove. Whether you go for naturalistic earth tones, albino cave colouring, or something more otherworldly — bioluminescent greens, necrotic purples — this sculpt will hold the paint beautifully.

As a large creature, this spider works as a Dungeon Master's centrepiece encounter beast rather than filler — it earns its own initiative slot and its own moment of dread at the table.

Suits adventurers who:

  • Run Underdark campaigns and want genuinely threatening dungeon fauna
  • Need a large-sized spider encounter for a cave, crypt, or wilderness ambush
  • Want a miniature that doubles as a display piece with its intricate carapace detail
  • Are looking for a Drider's pet, a Lolth-touched creature, or a standalone boss encounter
  • Enjoy painting complex organic textures across a large surface area

Encounter Hook: The party has tracked the missing merchants to a collapsed section of the old mine road. The cargo is still there — wrapped in thick white silk, suspended from the ceiling in neat parcels. Then the lantern light catches eight eyes, each one the size of a fist, watching calmly from above the entrance they just walked through.
