Description

It was not the smell that warned them — it was the sound of a chain dragging slowly across the crypt floor, growing louder in the dark.

Ghouls occupy a particular kind of dread in any undead encounter: not shambling horrors but fast, cunning, and ravenous. This sculpt by Primal Collectibles captures that predatory menace with extraordinary detail. The ghoul crouches low on a crumbling stone plinth, one knee raised and clawed hands tensed — every muscle in that pale, sinewy body coiled to lunge. A heavy iron chain hangs from its wrist, the links broken but still dangling, suggesting something once tried to keep this creature bound. Skulls litter the base at its feet, and the cracked stone beneath it tells a story of long confinement and sudden freedom.

The facial expression is the real centrepiece: sunken eyes wide with hunger, pointed ears laid back, and a mouth full of jagged teeth caught mid-snarl. This is not the generic shambling corpse of a low-level dungeon filler — this is a creature with intent. Whether you're running it as a lone predator in a city undercroft, a pack hunter in a plague-ravaged cemetery, or a thrall serving a more powerful undead master, this miniature earns its place at the table and on the shelf.

Brought to your table by adventurers who:

  • Need a ghoul mini that carries genuine menace, not just flavour text
  • Are running undead-heavy campaigns in catacombs, crypts, or Ravenloft-style settings
  • Want a display piece that rewards close inspection — the chain, the skulls, the cracked plinth all repay a careful paint job
  • Collect Primal Collectibles sculpts for their character-driven detail and high-fidelity rendering

Encounter Hook:
Three nights running, the Watch has found the bodies of night-soil collectors near the Undergate — each one drained of flesh, each one with deep claw marks and the imprint of a chain link pressed into the mud beside them. The trail leads down into the old quarantine tunnels beneath the city's poorest quarter, where something chained and starving has been waiting for a very long time.

Details

This miniature is printed at 32mm scale. The decorative base (featuring the crumbling plinth and skull scatter) is included as a separate piece and attaches easily with a small amount of glue — and given how the ghoul's pose interacts with the plinth edge, we'd strongly recommend using it. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork or striking as a grey display piece straight out of the box.
