Description

It does not have a face so much as a collection of grievances — mouths that bite at nothing, eyes that see everything, and tentacles that have learned to hate.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Gaze of the Dark is a writhing mass of eldritch wrongness: a bloated, spherical body studded with bulging, unblinking eyes and crowned with curling horns, its lower half a tangle of muscular tentacles and gaping, tooth-lined maws. This is not a creature that evolved — it erupted, wrenched into being by forces that don't play by the rules of biology. The sculpt captures every unsettling detail: the veined surface of each eyeball, the rows of jagged teeth in each independent mouth, the sucker-lined coil of every thrashing limb. One variant even shows a hapless figure clutched in a tentacle's grip, already mid-scream — a grim indicator of just how badly this encounter is going.

Whether you're running it as a gibbering mouther, a beholder-kin, a chaos spawn, or something wholly homebrew, this piece commands the table. Equally at home anchoring an Underdark ambush as it is dominating a display shelf, the Gaze of the Dark is the kind of centrepiece encounter that players will remember long after the session ends.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a standout boss monster or mid-tier Underdark threat
  • Are building cosmic horror, Far Realm, or aberration-heavy campaigns
  • Want a multi-mouthed monstrosity that doubles as a display piece
  • Run scenarios involving cults, planar breaches, or corrupted dungeon depths
  • Collect eldritch and aberration miniatures for painting projects

Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to locate a missing cartographer somewhere beneath the Sunken Vaults. They find his notes first — increasingly frantic, describing a sound like wet laughter echoing from below. Then they find his lantern, still lit, sitting on the floor of a flooded chamber. Then they find what took him, still holding him, still watching the entrance with fourteen patient eyes.

What's included:
Printed at 32mm scale. The plain black base is included separately and can be attached with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed prior to dispatch, though minor marks from the printing process may occasionally occur and are easily cleaned up. Each piece is fully cured and ready for priming and painting — or use it straight from the box.

Mitz rolled Charisma. Simz rolled Charisma. Both succeeded. The humans had no say in any of this.

Works beautifully alongside aberration horrors for complete Underdark delves — or explore more from Great Grimoire.
