Gargoyle Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Perched on a crumbling parapet high above the city, it has watched every soul pass below for a thousand years — and remembered each one.

- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
This gargoyle bust from Witchsong Miniatures captures one of fantasy's most iconic sentinel creatures at its most imposing. The sculpt presents a powerful, forward-leaning pose — jaws parted to reveal rows of jagged teeth, eyes narrowed with ancient malice, and a crown of sharp horns rising from a heavily textured skull. Overlapping scales cover the neck and chest, while a mane of rough, feathered ridges frames the face with a feral intensity that sits somewhere between dragon and predator.
The detail here rewards patient painters: the transition from fine facial scales to the coarser body texture gives brushwork real purpose, and the deeply recessed shadows around the eyes and mouth are exactly the kind of surface that responds beautifully to washes and glazes. Mounted on a chunky stone plinth with rivet detailing and rubble edging, the whole piece has the weight and gravitas of a trophy — or a warning. As a display bust rather than a standard tabletop miniature, it's equally at home on a painting desk, a collector's shelf, or as visual inspiration for a gargoyle guardian, cursed sentinel, or stony-faced patron in your campaign.
For adventurers who:
- Want a detailed display bust to showcase their painting skills
- Are building a fantasy creature collection for shelves or cabinet displays
- Need a memorable visual for a gargoyle encounter, animated stone guardian, or urban rooftop villain
- Are drawn to D&D Monstrosities with ancient, watchful presence
Encounter Hook:
The party has been told the gargoyle only activates when a thief crosses the threshold — but when they arrive, three of the four statues on the gatehouse are missing, and the fourth is staring directly at the door they just came through.
Supplied as a display bust at collector scale. Supports removed as standard; minor surface marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up with a fine file or blade. Fully cured and ready to prime.
