Description
The ground shuddered, the ice cracked, and then the frost worm erupted — a coiling mass of armoured chitin, cyclopean eye, and gnashing teeth, hungry after a long winter beneath the permafrost.

This is a Huge-scale miniature mounted on a 76.5mm base — substantially larger than a standard 32mm figure, and designed to dominate the table when it hits the battlefield. The sculpt captures the frost worm mid-eruption, body arched upward as it bursts through a shattered ice field, with one massive clawed limb raised and the other buried in the frozen earth below.
The front view reveals a deeply unsettling face: a single large eye ringed by concentric detail sits at the centre of a chitinous maw flanked by hooked mandibles and rows of jagged teeth. The armoured carapace along the upper body is rendered with angular, overlapping ice-tinged plates, while the segmented underbelly shows a softer, leathery texture — the contrast between the two surfaces gives painters a wealth of material to work with. Pale basecoat tones across the carapace lend themselves brilliantly to an icy blue-white palette, while the warmer tan of the underbelly and claws invite amber or bone highlighting.
The rear view shows the sculpt's second highlight: a thick, muscular tail segment rearing upward beside the head, terminating in a cluster of curved claws — suggesting the worm is twisting mid-attack, its entire bulk surging through the ice. The base itself is textured with cracked, angular stone or frozen ground, reinforcing the sense of violent emergence.
This miniature suits adventurers who want:
- A centrepiece monster for Arctic or mountain wilderness encounters
- A memorable boss creature for Underdark or deep glacier campaigns
- A visually striking display piece for a painted monster collection
- A faithful recreation of one of D&D's most formidable natural predators
Encounter Hook: The party has been tracking a missing scouting party across the Frostmarrow Tundra for three days. They find the scouts' camp — tents shredded, equipment scattered across the ice — and then the ground thirty feet ahead of them simply explodes upward as the frost worm that took the scouts decides it is still hungry. The players have one round before it reaches them.
